Under the supervision of the ITS Director, the ITS Applications Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Information Technology Services department with a focus on application support and development.Responsible for the supervision and management of assigned personnel and works with the ITS Director to plan, develop, and organize assigned Information Technology and Application Services as project manager for implementation and completion of all IT projects.Meets organizational expectations as defined by the Employee Standards of Performance, hospital and department policies and procedures, and the hospital s strategic goals. Verbalizes a clear understanding of continuous quality improvement and customer satisfaction measures and actively participates in improvement initiatives.Participates in the selection process of proposed computer applications understanding end user needs and contributing to the decision process.Ensures proper use of currently implemented applications in an effort to protect HIS investments. Manages effective data integration between computer applications.Plans, prioritizes and sources current and future mature leadership by managing teams and projects within available resources.Lead the planning and implementation of projects.Define project tasks, resource requirements and manage all projects from inception to completion.Manages computer applications through-out the hospital in a timely and efficient manner.Manages the training of hospital personnel on HIS enterprise applications.Rapidly completes targeted project plans and effectively manages multiple projects concurrently.Understands how new applications/technology impacts the organization and leads implementation to enhance overall project value.Directs orientation, competency and education programs for system users, linking processes, applications and technology advances to the content and teaching methods.Applies sound judgement and makes decisions based on patient safety standards, departmental standard operating procedures,hospital policy, and good financial stewardship.Identifies weaknesses in current processes and evaluates and recommends corrective measures using hospitals informatin systems investment.Responds in a timely manner and provides assistance in accessing applications or systems functions. Ensures that proper documentation is available for all software systems including user manuals for information systems.Facilitates the creation and testing of all hospital applications.Works with computer super users to properly plan HIS applications are implemented in a timely manner with limited disruption to the organization.Monitors and controls project scope, project tasks and time requirements.Monitors HIS application related projects by measuring progress, evaluating exposures and contingencies, and taking corrective effectively in writing and verbally and participates in evaluating/reviewing hospital policy and procedure.Mentors team on effective analytical to technology decisionsfor the organization. Assures that the organization follows security and regulatory best practices.Manages many multiple tasks and/or teams effectively.Performs other duties as assigned or director to ensure smooth operation of the in project management skills and a proven record of leading IT projects to experience in people management and participation with strategic planning. Possesses advanced applications and systems knowledge andintuitive ability.Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills.Use and knowledge of personal computers and hospital applications and systems such as McKesson Paragon, McKesson Horizon, SCC Soft Lab, Pyxis, Dictaphone, 3M Coding tools, mini and micro-computer systems.Has ability to read and interpret federal regulations and is knowledgeable of HIPAA regulations and JCAHO requirements.Preferred:Bachelors degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or Business Administration and has strong clinical or technical background and 5 years clinical/financial information applications preferred.McKesson Paragon, Horizon HPF experience preferred.Required: Graduate of an accredited 4 year program in specific field such as Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or has 5 years equivalent experience in clinical/financial applications or advanced technical certification. Five years of clinical/financial Information Systems and Business Analysis experience in a healthcare environment is required.A combination of advanced technical certification and technical experience is required for a technology specific position.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
