An exempt supervisory position responsible for managing the daily operations of the office, staff and their duties. Duties include but are not limited to: supervising physician office staff, monitoring patient registration, admission, maintaining employee time records, insurance verification, appointment scheduling, entering charges and collecting monies due, monitoring daily staffing requirements, providing requested medical documentation to payor sources as well as other hospital departments and maintains departmental records. Major Duties: Meets organizational expectations as defined by the Employee Standards of Performance, hospital and department policies and procedures, and the hospital s strategic goals. Verbalizes a clear understanding of continuous quality improvement and customer satisfaction measures and actively participates in improvement initiatives. Assists employees in understanding and/or implementing short and long term work plans and objectives to achieve quality clerical and clinical operational processes. Supervises the daily tasks and operations of the office, staff and orients new physician office staff to their daily tasks. Develops guidelines for prioritizing work activities, evaluating effectiveness, and modifying activities as necessary. Ensures that the physician office is staffed appropriately.
Responsible for monitoring, and recommending changes and/or corrections to the employed physician office staff s daily time punch report. Responsible for supervising all financial activities for accuracy of coding, charge posting, of patient payments, and reviewing daily cash deposits. Serves as emergency staff back-up performing tasks required to provide continuous quality care. (i.e., entering charges and/or triage patients) when needed. Prepares daily, weekly and monthly financial and operational reports and submits them to the Director on a timely basis. Oversees supply inventories and approves ordering of office supply and medical supplies in accordance with approved budget guidelines. Initiate IT and other maintenance service requests for problems. Communicates and responds to all requests from other hospital departments and physician offices. Implements, monitors, and revises the physician scheduling appointment template. Implements, monitors, and revises the physician office insurance verification process and insurance authorization denials process.
Supervises the office telecommunications and emails to guarantee that patients, physicians, and staff are efficiently returning and/or responding to requests promptly and courteously. Stays up-to-date with any insurance/payor source requirements and inform staff of any changes. Attend insurance/payor source in-services when available.Supports and upholds established policies, procedures, objectives, quality improvement, safety environmental, infection control, OSHA, JCAHO, and any other requirements of accreditation and regulatory agencies. Communicates to SMH Physicians Network director any concerns, issues, and/or processes to either improve the quality of care provided or improve the operational efficiency. Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure smooth operation of the : Preferred: Knowledge of medical practices, terminology and insurance reimbursement policies. Experience with planning, organizing, delegating and supervising. In addition, experience with evaluating the effectiveness of existing operational methods and procedures. Bachelor s degree, preferably with coursework in health care administration; however, in lieu of education, work experience in physician office is acceptable with 5 years experience.Required: Able to read, write and perform basic math calculations. Knowledge of phone, fax, copier. Knowledge of Outlook, Excel and Word. Successful completion of mandatory requirements including unit proficiencies/competencies. Minimum three (3) years of medical clinical experience in a physician practice group of at less 3 physicians with previous supervisory experience. GED not acceptable. Licensure/Certification:Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
