## Job Description
The Patient Representative performs clerical duties which include but are not limited to: greeting patients, answering multiline phone system, operating copier and fax, filing documentation appropriately, patient admission, alerting therapist to the arrival of their patients, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, arrangement of patient transportation, appointment scheduling, collecting fees from patients, inputting therapy charges, providing requested medical documentation to payor sources as well as other hospital departments, and maintaining positive work environment. Major Duties:
Meets organizational expectations as defined by the Employee Standards of Performance, hospital and department policies and procedures, and the hospitals strategic goals. Verbalizes a clear understanding of continuous quality improvement and customer satisfaction measures and actively participates in improvement initiatives. Greet and assist patients upon entering the clinic. Answer multiline phone system. Input daily charges. File, copy and fax confidential documentation. Collect insurance copays from patients. Alert therapist to the arrival of their patients. Maintain records to insure adherence to payor source guidelines. Respond to requests for documentation by patients, and other hospital departments. Assist patients with coordination and scheduling of appointments. Assist patients with scheduling transportation to and from the clinic. Obtain insurance verification prior to seeing patient. Assists therapist with insurance/financial information as it relates to patient care. Attend department staff meetings. Accepts responsibility and accountability for delegated tasks. Recognize, identify and resolve problems and issues that arise without direct supervision. Demonstrates flexibility in scheduling to meet department needs.
Admit new patients into the computer system. Prioritize duties continually. Perform multi takes frequently. Maintain therapists daily charge slips. Work with therapists closely regarding schedule changes. Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure smooth operation of the organization. Education/
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Preferred: Required: Able to read, write, and perform basic math calculations. Knowledge of phone, fax, copier, basic computer skills, Outlook and Word. Successful completion of mandatory requirements including unit proficiencies/competencies. Demonstration of effective problem solving, decision making, interpersonal skills, and teamwork. Demonstration of positive customer service. Ability to conduct duties in a professional manner. Demonstration of time management and organizational skills. Demonstration of effective verbal and written communication skills. Demonstration of positive customer service. Able to work continuously with confidential information. High school diploma, GED equivalent. Licensure/Certification: n/a

Schedule: DaysEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
