Job Details:
The KidMed RN facilitates patient care in accordance with Louisiana s Kidmed program which includes assessment, nursing diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Initiates and completes documentation of patient interactions and maintains current appointment schedule. Maintains immunization inventory in Links system. Participates in preventative health maintenance initiatives. Maintains records and prepares for annual KidMed audits.
Job Requirements:
MINIMUM
Qualifications:
Current Registered Nurse licensure with the state of Louisiana and knowledge of their scope of practice.
CPR Certification required.
At least one or two years nursing experience working Med-Surg or in clinical or hospital setting. Previous pediatric nursing experience preferred.
Experience utilizing an Electronic Health Record required.
Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills. Calm, professional attitude in stressful situations and interactions
High level of ethics in maintaining patient confidentiality.
Excellent analytical skills to assess and evaluate patient needs and develop and implement a care plan.
Knowledge of current immunization schedule.
Has met all pre-employment requirements.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Stands and walks most of the day
Handles multiple tasks simultaneously.
Deals with and/or resolves stressful situations
Reads gauges, digital read outs, graphs and educational material, and patient charts.
Occasional travel to other Access Health Louisiana health centers as needed.
Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, including pushing and/or pulling.
Communicates with patients, physicians, and other staff in verbal and written form
